History- A brief history
Housed in a ‘Carmen’ of the 19th century in the historical Moorish quarter of the Albaicín, ‘Las Tomasas’ rejoices in a splendid overview of the ‘Alhambra’, the ‘Generalife’, the town of Granada and its wide plains. Our guests will enjoy the breathtaking views and the incomparable beauty of a unique landscape, framed by the white peaks of the ‘Sierra Nevada’, that will even complete this wonderful view-point.
El Albaycín

The ‘Albaicin’ has been praised for its tempting charm as well as for being the most stimulating, attractive and inspiring quarter of magical Granada. Whitewashed houses and narrow streets where you can almost sense the three cultures which formed Granada´s ancient history - always faced by the Alhambra. Like an impressive guard the Alhambra towers over every corner, reinforcing even more the beauty of this stunning place.

El Carmen

he winding paths, crooked streets and plazas are due in part to the typical ‘Carmenes’, beautifully compounded with churches, convents and historical moorish buildings… ‘El Carmen’ is a typical granadine domicile, that the writer Luis Seco de Lucena defines as a landed house where the owner’s private life takes place, of which the blend of garden and orchard becomes an integral part. That is why a ‘Carmen’ always seems so undisturbed and secluded within its atmosphere of peaceful privacy.

Las Tomasas

In the year 1989 the restaurant opened its doors using a part of its beautiful gardens as a summer terrace where aperitifs and cold dinners were served.Since then we have extended our gastronomical offerings as well as our indoor and outdoor facilities to better satisfy our customers. Delicately decorated diningrooms, terraces and verandas merged with the environment make a perfect harmonious balance within a scenic symbiosis. A place unique in the world.
